We are organizing the TT-RIIP international course 2017 entitled “TRANSGENIC TECHNOLOGIES in MODELING HUMAN DISEASES: Principles, Associated Technologies, Animal Management and Ethics” at the Hellenic Pasteur Institute, in Athens, in June 5-13, 2017.
This is a page in which you will find information useful to prepare you for the course and make your stay in Athens in the duration of the course more comfortable and enjoyable.

The Hellenic Pasteur Institute (HPI) is situated in close proximity to the Athens city centre. Its main entrance is at 127, Vassilissis Sofias Avenue. It is easily accessible by frequent direct buses (X95) and underground- Metro (blue line, No 3) from the Airport “El. Venizelos”. The closest Metro stations to the Institute is “Ampelokipi”(back gate) and “Megaro Moussikis” (front gate).
Participants should make their own arrangements for accommodation.
However, if you wish, you are entitled to a reduced hotel rate in standard double-shared rooms in Athinais Hotel (http://www.athinaishotel.gr/el/), situated ~ 100 m from the Hellenic Pasteur Institute, with your own arrangements.
Directions on how to get from the airport to the Athinais hotel:
From the airport you will take the Metro line direction EGALEO (ΑΙΓΑΛΕΩ). This is a direct line to the centre of Athens. The cost of the Metro ticket from the airport is 10 €. Get off at the Metro station “MEGARO MOUSIKIS” ( ΜΕΓΑΡΟ ΜΟΥΣΙΚΗΣ).
You can walk to the hotel (about 300m).
Taxis in Athens have a yellow color and are easy to recognize. You can stop them at any place. If you wish to take a taxi from the airport, the cost to the center of Athens is 50-60 €.
